Loan Forgiveness
In certain situations, you may be eligible for loan forgiveness, which means your obligation to repay all or a portion of your loans will be forgiven if you meet certain criteria. The table includes links to information sheets that explain eligibility criteria for each program. Information sheets for the two federal forgiveness programs also include links to application forms.
Read the eligibility criteria carefully. If you think you may be eligible for loan forgiveness, contact your lender/servicer or OSAC for assistance.
NOTE: Loans cannot be forgiven because you did not complete the program of study at your school (unless you were unable to complete the program because the school closed and didn't transfer credits from the closed school to another school), didn’t like the school or the program of study, or didn’t obtain employment after completing the program of study.
