Choosing a Major
Research what you are interested in. Meet with professors and current students. Take classes from the majors you are interested in.

If you have another area of interest in addition to your major, see if any minor options exist for that area.
Attend all classes.
Some think that just because attendance is not taken it is not worthwhile. By attending classes, you never have to worry about missing something important.
Set aside blocks of time.
For Study: By allowing yourself to have a set time to study, you give yourself a better chance to actually do the work. For Fun: College can be stressful, and you should always have time to unwind.
Prepare for classes.
Read your assignments! If you are able to keep up with the reading throughout the term, it will pay off when final exams come around.
Take good notes.
Often, your notes provide the only record of the class lecture material.
Go to instructor during office hours.
By getting to know your professors and teaching assistants, you can get personalized help with any difficult material.
Do the work.
Do not ignore the importance of assignments and extra credit.
