Oregon Troops to Teachers
The Oregon Troops to Teachers Scholarship program is now inactive.
No additional scholarships are available at this time.The program did not receive continued funding by the 2007 Oregon Legislative Assembly.
The Oregon Student Assistance Commission would like to thank previous applicants for competing for the awards, and extend our congratulations to previous recipients.
History: The 2005 Oregon Legislative Assembly established the Oregon Troops to Teachers program, which is administered by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC). The legislature provided $165,000 for the 2005-2007 biennium. The program paid the average cost of resident (in-state) tuition at an Oregon public college or university for qualifying veterans.
Federal Resources: The Federal Troops to Teachers Program (Lewis and Clark Troops to Teachers for residents of Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota & Wyoming) is still available. Please contact them to find out if you qualify for a Federal Troops to Teachers Scholarship. The web address is:
